FAQ

Yes. All plans include a 14-day free trial. Annual plans also include a 14-day refund window if you change your mind after the trial.

The first 1,000 paid personal subscriptions lock in a Founders rate: 40% off the current personal plan price at launch. That rate stays with you for as long as your subscription remains continuous, even as we adjust standard pricing over time. Your spot is reserved the moment your trial begins. If you cancel during the trial or later let the subscription lapse, you give up your Founders rate.

Every Founder locks in Founders pricing and joins the shared Founders community, where the team reads feedback and feature requests. The first 100 are Charter Founders, with direct, individual access to the team and a closer hand in shaping hob's direction. The 1,000-subscriber cap keeps Founders pricing tied to the launch cohort rather than becoming permanent public pricing, and we'll add more perks over time.

hob runs locally and stores agent conversations in a local database on your device. Regular hob service traffic is limited to read-only checks like app updates and model-list updates. Agent work goes between you and whatever agent provider you already use, such as Anthropic or OpenAI. hob is the interface, not the middleman.

Pro+'s remote access uses our managed relay at roam.hob.dev. Frames are end-to-end encrypted by hob on top of WebSocket TLS before entering the relay, which forwards encrypted frames only — it does not have the plaintext needed to read your workspace or session data. You can always use your own networking instead if you prefer zero third-party involvement.

Yes. There are no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your billing period.

Everything stays on your machine. Your local database of conversations, workspaces, and history is yours and remains accessible regardless of subscription status.

Yes, if you are an individual buying hob for yourself. Personal licenses can be used for your own professional work. If hob is being used inside a business, bought by a company, reimbursed by an employer, or managed as part of a company engineering workflow, it needs a Business license.

Business is for company-managed engineering workflows and employee seats. Enterprise is for larger deployments with custom procurement, security, deployment, source access or escrow, or self-hosting requirements. Smaller teams should start with Business.

Cursor bundles an editor with inference, which optimizes for staying inside one vendor's models, routing, and history. hob stays out of the inference path. It gives your agent sessions, terminals, history, and remote access an independent home across whatever tools and providers you already pay for.

Your existing tools give you model access or editor-specific workflows. hob gives you the workspace layer that holds them together — parallel sessions, terminals, local history, remote access — across whatever providers you already pay for.

No. hob is not a model provider and does not resell tokens. You bring the agent CLIs, model accounts, API keys, and routing choices you already use. hob gives those tools an independent workspace around them.

hob is for developers who already use agent CLIs as part of real engineering work, not casual prompting. If you run Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, terminals, multiple repos, or parallel agent sessions daily, hob gives that work one durable, local-first workspace.

hob probably is not worth it if you only use AI coding tools occasionally or mostly chat with one model in one app. hob is built for developers whose agent workflows are frequent enough that organization, history, portability, and control matter.
